New Delhi: One mistake by Snapdeal cost the company huge. Punjabi University B.Tech student Nikhil Bansal got an iPhone 5S from the e-commerce giant for Rs 68.
The cost of iPhone 5S on Snapdeal is Rs 28,999.
Nikhil spotted a 99.7 percent discount on an iPhone and he did not miss a single second and ordered it for Rs 68 on February 12. However, he did not receive it because it might have been a technical snag rather than a great Snapdeal discount.

Bansal then took Snapdeal to consumer court in Punjab’s Sangrur district, alleging that the e-commerce company refused to ‘honor the deal’, reported Trak.in.
The court not only ordered Snapdeal to sell him the iPhone 5S for Rs 68, but also pay a Rs 2,000 penalty.
According to indiatimes.com, Snapdeal contested the decision in a consumer forum and lost the case again. The company was then ordered to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 to close the case.
